Lexington campus of Kentuckys flagship university, the faculty, students and
staff of our Medical Center take pride in achieving

The UK Chandler Medical Center encompasses the Colleges of Dentistry,
Health Sciences, Medicine,
Nursing and Pharmacy, and
Public Health, as well as University of Kentucky
Hospital, UK Children's Hospital and the
Centers of Excellence.

Several recent accomplishments are among the hallmarks of our pride in
- UK Hospital is ranked in the Top 20 in the country in cancer care in U.S.
News & World Reportís 2001 edition of Americaís
Best Hospitals. This is the third consecutive year that UK Hospitalís
Markey Cancer Center has been ranked in the Top 20 for cancer care.
The center is ranked No. 19 this year.
- The UK College of Medicine is 9th in U.S. News &
World Reportís 2003 annual ranking of medical schoolsí rural medicine
- UK Children's Hospital, the only full-service, tertiary care
facility dedicated exclusively to childrens health in the eastern region
of the commonwealth, was ranked 28th in the nation in the February 2001 issue of
- The UK Center for Rural Health was selected as the No. 1 Rural Health
Program in the United States by the National Rural Health Association in May
- The UK College of Pharmacy was ranked third among all U.S. pharmacy
schools offering graduate degrees in the 2000 "Americas Best Graduate
Schools" issue of U.S. News & World Report.
- U.S. News & World Report ranked the University of Kentucky College of Nursing masters program
29th among 69 graduate nursing programs listed in its "Americas Best Graduate Schools" issue published in
2003. UKs nursing program was ranked 36th last year.
